COVID-19 Testing provided by Knox County Health Department

Free COVID-19 testing will be at the Knox County Health Department (140 Dameron Ave., Knoxville, TN 37917) this week. We will continue testing for COVID-19 Monday, March 1 through Wednesday, March 3 and Friday, March 5 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. There is NO testing on Thursday, March 4.

Please remember, there are other COVID-19 testing opportunities available in Knox County. Scroll down to view additional testing options.

The Knox County Health Department is responsible for vaccinating individuals within Phase 1a1, Phase 1a2, Phase 1b and those 65 years and older, as outlined in Tennessee's statewide plan. KCHD team members administering vaccinations are the same individuals conducting COVID-19 testing. Because of this, we are unable to fully staff both COVID testing and vaccination clinics on the same day. For more information on the COVID vaccine, please visit https://covid.knoxcountytn.gov/vaccine-info.html

As a reminder, please continue to follow the 5 Core Actions, even as the vaccine starts being distributed. KCHD has created a webpage providing guidance and recommendations on how to stay connected during COVID-19 here.

While we will continue to test until 3 p.m. Monday - Wednesday and Friday this week, we may need to cut the line prior to 3 p.m. in order to process the tests and get them to the lab in a timely manner. We ask for patience as we expect there will consistently be long lines. Testing is free, and we are no longer collecting insurance. We recommend that children be seen by their primary care physician (PCP), but we will attempt to test children of all ages. If they are not cooperative, we will refer them to their PCP. For more information, please call KCHD's Public Information Line at 865-215-5555 or toll-free at 888-288-6022. The information line is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT, Monday through Friday.
